Portraits of New York’s Creatives in Alexander McQueen

Exclusive: In a new series, photographer Ethan James Green shoots a group of his close friends wearing Alexander McQueen’s Pre Spring/Summer 2020 collection

Ethan James Green is surely one of the most compelling image-makers working today. Celebrated for his intimate black and white portraits of his friends and community, the photographer last year released his first monograph – a series of “striking portraits of New York’s millennial scene-makers” titled Young New York – while some of his unseen images went on display at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Also praised for his fashion photography, Green has undertaken commissions for publications including Dazed, AnOther and Another Man, photographing Ashton Sanders and Faris Badwan for the latter, as well as for brands such as Alexander McQueen.

In a new series for McQueen, revealed today exclusively on AnOthermag.com, Green has turned his lens on a group of close friends – Dara, Marcs Goldberg and Torraine Futurum – who are captured in the photographer’s signature, quietly beautiful style wearing Sarah Burton’s Pre Spring/Summer 2020 collection for the British house.

Infused with a sense of dark romance, this collection features cinched leather coats and jackets spliced with lace; sharp tailoring appliquéd with flowers and majestically embroidered tulle gowns – all bearing the characteristic restrained elegance of Burton’s collections for McQueen.
